Recently, in a test conducted by the technical department, we focused on a customer-sent repair of the Motorola P6600i <\/strong>An in-depth investigation of the walkie-talkies was conducted and the results revealed serious quality and authenticity issues. This report summarizes the key points of this incident and reminds the industry and users to be vigilant in the purchasing and maintenance process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Problem started: Firmware cannot be burned.<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This model failed to read data when attempting to connect the programming cable to update or reset the firmware. This type of problem is extremely rare in original equipment, so we disassembled the case to further examine the internal structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Motherboard abnormality: non-original product<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

After disassembly, it was found that the internal motherboard of the walkie-talkie was significantly different from the original product:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Motherboard not designed by Motorola<\/strong>The product can be recognized by comparing it with the official product photo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Poorly designed plastic strip<\/strong>The product is not dustproof, waterproof or explosion-proof, as it should be.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Rough labeling and fittings<\/strong>The text printed on the body is different from that of the original, and the surface treatment of the accessories is obviously of poor quality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Comparison of internal structure<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    The original P6600i motherboard has the following features:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • All components are automatically welded by machine and are fitted with a matte finish isolation cover.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The circuit board is clearly labeled with the serial number and the antenna holder is equipped with test terminals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      On the other hand, the walkie-talkie from an unknown source has a number of flaws in its internal design:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      • Isolator is crooked and not securely fastened.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Hand-welded in many places, leaving fingerprints on the surface.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Lacking any serial number or labeling, it is difficult to trace the source and quality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Conclusion: Strengthening Awareness of Authentication and Anti-counterfeiting<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

        This incident serves as a reminder that there is no guarantee that a device is from a legitimate source, even if it looks similar. Counterfeit products are not only not covered by the original manufacturer's warranty and support, but also carry significant risks in terms of quality and safety. Users are advised:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        • Purchase your Motorola walkie-talkie through an authorized channel only.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Periodic equipment validation is performed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • If there is any function abnormality, it must be sent to the factory authorized service center for inspection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
